Are you an Awakened Professional? (and does it matter for your business?)

Are you an Awakened Professional? (and does it matter for your business?)

Are you an Awakened Professional? (and does it matter for your business?)

This question plagued me. It felt important. “Am I awakened?”

Ever since I heard the call to “Awaken and help others do the same” come seemingly out of nowhere, I felt a deep desire to do just that.

I didn’t know what the words meant.

I didn’t know how I was hearing it.

I wasn’t sure what it meant to be “awake” or who I could help, but it felt true. It felt as if I’d done it many times before. Familiar. Like “Here we go again,” and support from somewhere saying “You can do this!”

It felt purposeful.

I began reading books, talking to people, finding my soul group. Finding fellow awakeners who were also rising and figuring out the connectedness of the universe.

And the whole time I would wonder, “Am I awakened?” At what point can I speak from a place of knowing? When do I share my journey so others can know that this is really happening? That they are not crazy? That you can be ‘normal’ and have this divine sense of connectedness and this feeling of wanting to share your light?

I held myself back for that reason. I didn’t want others to say I didn’t know what I was talking about yet. Or that I was somehow at this beginning stage that would make it seem like I was naïve. Or worse, what if I was completely wrong?

But what I’ve come to learn, as I’ve grown, as I’ve come to trust, as I’ve really learned to quiet my mind and become a clearer channel for intuitive information, is that it begins at that moment you answer the call to awaken.

That moment you decide to follow a path that may only have one step and only uncertainty beyond it.

That moment you decide that you have to do something meaningful and you have no idea how or what but you just know that you need to.

That feeling that something feels very BIG out there and you want to be part of it.

That strong, all-encompassing feeling that you are headed toward something amazing, even if it means you need to go down a little (or a lot!) to go up.

It’s a commitment.

It’s a commitment and re-commitment that so many of us are making.

And what I really want you to know is that it doesn’t matter if you feel you are awakened or awakening.

You don’t need to wait to step into your calling.

You may need to take steps, you may need to support yourself financially as you do it, but you do not need to wait for some point where you have it all figured out.

Your energy is what matters.

Are you an Awakened Professional? (and does it matter for your business?)

If you can be aligned with the energy of your words and actions – at whatever point you are – you will be stepping into your calling in such a meaningful way.

I spent too much time worrying if I could hold my own with other spiritual teachers I knew and what I discovered is that the information that was coming to me, was true for me. It helped me. It would’ve helped those who were at the same place as me if I would’ve just let it out.

I didn’t end up being wrong, I just ended up connecting more and gaining more confidence.

If I wouldn’t have spent so much time wondering “Who am I to do this?”, “Who am I to speak as if I know about the universe?”, I feel it would’ve been a less painful journey.

That second guessing. That critical voice!

What I feel now is that when we receive that call, that internal guidance, that nudge, that push, that is the moment we awaken.

Yet, some of us can jump out of bed and get right to work, and others of us are slow risers. Some, like me, roll out of bed, wipe the sleep from our eyes, and curl up on the couch with a cup of tea before we even consider doing something with our day.

We all wake up differently.

We all have a different way our soul wants to express itself.

No matter where you are in your journey, feeling Awakened or Awakening, if you create your career based on where you are in that moment, you will be able to align your energy and your true self with it. It will grow as you grow.

You don’t need to wait until some final point.

You just need to feel ready to do what you are doing. Be able to really stand behind it and align with it.

If you aren’t ready to stand behind it, that’s okay! Take your time. Sit with it. Do what feels right for you today.

Take small steps.

Small steps are just as fulfilling and allow you to enjoy the view as you go.

Just don’t get hung up on wording. On concepts. On this idea that you don’t know enough yet.
You know what you need to know for TODAY.

It will be enough.

It will continuously change and grow as new understanding comes along. As the world is growing together.

You are an Awakened Professional when you know you are working to fulfill a larger purpose. When you are asking to contribute to the whole. When you are answering this unknown thing and you want to do it full time. Really live and breathe it and have no separation between who you are at work and who you are outside of work.

You are yourself 24/7.

And you are really present to be just that. YOU.

How about you? Are you holding yourself back? Waiting for some greater understanding or are you meeting yourself right where you are today?

I encourage you to trust where you are today and feel the support of the universe, your guides or angels as you take those baby steps.

We are all growing together:)

The REAL Reason for Roadblocks on Our Career Journey

The REAL Reason for Roadblocks on Our Career Journey

roadblocks on career journey

The REAL Reason for Roadblocks on Your Career Journey

I see it so often. The excitement of a calling. The desire to do something meaningful, and often healing, with our lives.

Then, everything falls apart.

Illness or injuries stop our growth.

Family members interfere or intervene.

Jobs are lost.

This idea to do something BIG is so consuming, but the resources don’t seem to show up.

We hear a call, we answer, and then we may hit rock bottom. That rock bottom may be external or internal and no one else may even understand the darkness you are going through.

You may feel like you are losing it!

You may wonder if others are feeling this too.

And worse, you may be hard on yourself for not getting it together sooner and not being able to do what you feel you are here to do.

Which is why I’m writing this to you.

Which is why I want you to know what I know NOW. What maybe I always knew but didn’t really trust.

There are layers!

Our journey unfolds in layers of understanding so that we can gather the tools we need to forge ahead.

This is so important.

This cannot be skipped.

And when we skip these steps believe me, we know! Things can really fall apart.

What happens on our career journey is we start to take accountability for the good and the bad in our lives. Which means we can really be hard on ourselves for double the amount we were hard on ourselves before.

I’ve come to understand that while I was pushing for an end result and really beating myself up over not being able to achieve it, I was actually learning to manage energy.

You see, I’m an intuitive channel. More specifically when I write I tap into a collective consciousness that is greater than me.

But I didn’t know that.

I would write in the morning, be on an energy high, and then completely crash in the afternoon from exhaustion. I spent so much time trying to figure out what was wrong with me physically because I didn’t know I was managing this spiritual energy that can take you really up – and then as they say what goes up must come down.

Also, when you are an intuitive channel it’s like tuning into a radio station and you want the signal to be clear. It takes time to become a clear channel and learn to trust what you are hearing. It takes commitment.

Beyond the Energy

In addition to the energy there may be an even bigger reason you are wondering if there’s some sort of sabotage going on when you are trying to move forward.

There are different parts of ourselves that may or may not be comfortable with what we are doing.

I’ve come to describe it as the “Big Me” and the “Little Me.” The Big Me just wants to write. I feel so safe and supported and fulfilled when I do.

Then, the Little Me is saying, “What the hell are you doing?” “Who are you to write that?” “Oh my God, someone might read it! You better unpublish it right now!!!!” “Ahhhhh

” Then of course she needs a nap, lol.

It’s complicated. Our child self can be rising up to self-sabotage, our adolescent might have something to say, and our ego may be freaking out.

The only way to get everyone WHOLE and on board takes time.

It takes patience.

It takes really listening to what all the parts of you want you to know and heal.

Did I mention your shadows? Yikes! They need healing too.

Which is why many of us need to baby step into our calling. To gather the support tools along the way. It may be time to meditate and listen to our fears. It may be classes to learn more about energetic boundaries and how to claim our space. It may be dancing around your living room to release the energy and bring in the joy!

Did I mention that when I thought I was “stream of conscious” writing it was actually automatic writing and my house became very haunted? The walls started banging at night and the lights flickering? Talk about scary. Once I was aware of the connection I was able to find the resources to help me but before I had no idea. So my inner child and ego threw in obstacles to keep me from writing and I have to say I’m grateful that they did because I needed to slow down and learn spiritual protection.

If you are finding resistance, hesitation, and road blocks I want to tell you that it’s okay to take it slow. To listen to yourself. To uncover whether it’s typical fear or if you are reaching further up and need new tools and skills to keep going.

Career Journey Versus Spiritual Journey

To me a career journey, a calling, tends to end up being a spiritual journey. One where we are always learning. I have yet to meet a spiritual person who wasn’t reading several books or so interested in open minded, high energy conversations.

But we are learning to manage energy in this process.

We are learning to maintain boundaries and keep the riff raff out of our fields.

We become more sensitive and need more tools and a support team of friends or coaches.

We need time to reflect, absorb, and listen to ourselves and guides.

We need time to learn which ideas put into consciousness are meant for us and which we should let go for someone else to claim.

Which all cannot be rushed.

Which all should not be rushed.

You have time.

You can fulfill your calling by being right where you are today.

Present and living your life as aligned to your true self as you can be right now.

I had affirmations everywhere and then I changed it to just this one all-encompassing powerful one “I AM fully aligned with my life purpose.”

I realized that to be fully aligned, it meant that I had friends who fit who I am today, family who is supportive, good health, etc. It covered everything.

I find now I am fully aligned even though on the surface my life may look the same. But when I go to bed at night I think “I was true to myself today and it felt amazing” instead of that feeling that I’m missing something important and going to run out of time.

It took years to get here. To this point of just being me and speaking my truth.

I wish I hadn’t been so hard on myself for not being here sooner.

If can you learn one thing from my mistakes, I hope it’s to love yourself fiercely wherever you are TODAY.

You need tools and resources to grow and those take time to gather.

The fact you are even trying to share your light is enough!

It is enough to shine your light in the comfort of your own home or workspace.

You will get to where you are going. It will take the time that it’s meant to take, so settle in. Relax. Enjoy the books and ideas. Learn how to lift, cleanse and clear your energy. It will serve you well.

Grow and then absorb.

Let it settle before you reach for more.

There may be a good reason for your road blocks – As frustrating as they may be!

Big hugs,

The Risk of Waiting to Share Your Gifts (that No One else is saying)

The Risk of Waiting to Share Your Gifts (that No One else is saying)

If you feel you have a calling, are stepping into your gifts (or realizing you’ve always had them), there is a good reason not to wait to share them with the world.

I am not saying to push ahead, ignore your ego and physical body, and do what makes you feel uncomfortable.

I’m talking about some inspiration that’s calling you, some baby step that’s nudging you, something deep inside you encouraging you to use your voice, share your wisdom, or nurture others in a new way. Do not wait until you get to the point that you have it all figured out!

First of all, I’m not sure we ever get to that point. Instead we get to a place where we can stand behind what we are saying and trust it. Just have it a little more figured out until a new layer crumbles and is revealed to us and we delve in all over again.

The reason I’m telling you not to wait is because there is a real need for spiritual teachers who are relevant to our life today AND are accessible and affordable. Sure we will never discount Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay or the Rebecca Campbells of the world and can always benefit from their books, audio recordings and wisdom.

However, when I listen to or read their words they are speaking from a point of having lived and fine-tuned their spiritual gifts and beliefs over decades. Maybe they’ve really embraced clean eating, daily meditation, and are enjoying financial abundance while living in beautiful places. Which makes them so insightful, but let’s face it, it can make the rest of us feel overwhelmed.

I was so overwhelmed by Louise Hay’s Bone Broth book! I just don’t have the kitchen where I can have a pot boiling on the stove 24/7, my broth didn’t taste very good and the ingredients really stressed my budget. I do think broth is a value add but I wasn’t able to do it in such a way as someone who has being living it for many years can do it. I had to remind myself that any lifestyle additions take time to adjust to and that I can only do my best to keep up with feeding our family and my nutritional needs. If I can add in some broth, then do it. Otherwise it is okay to wait until I’m at a point in my life where I can have it brewing more consistently and remember to drink it before it spoils.

So many of us are not at that sweet spot in our lives yet, or that life may not even be our goal. While living in Maui sounds amazing, you may be shining your light in a crisis center located in New York City. You may be having a spiritual awakening in the heart of Chicago. You may be embodying yoga in Los Angeles. And all that is important!

There is a real need for the brave souls who are stepping up now and who are willing to share what is working for them TODAY.

It makes them relevant. It makes them accessible.

If you wait until you have everything “under control” and figured out you may forget how challenging the journey can be.

You may forget the pain of not knowing your shadows can be self-sabotaging and how you benefited from that type of healing.

You may forget how difficult it was to learn about energetic boundaries and how important it is to maintain yours.

You may forget the excitement of taking Reiki or the eagerness with which you started buying nurturing, supportive crystals to keep nicely tucked into your bra or pocket.

You may forget the spiritual chills which helped you stay focused on your path or the amazing people who showed up right when you needed them to.

You may forget the child-like wonder of discovering that there are no coincidences and the amazement at finding when you ask for help, if you are open and allowing, it will come to you. But if you wait, you will become used to this layer of understanding. You will forget what you really needed to hear and that information may not get out into the world. That feeling of it which can inspire so many, may be lost.

That is not to say you should jump on YouTube and ramble, although who knows? Something amazing may come of jumping on YouTube raw and vulnerable. When you have something to say, and it feels true and important – then go for it! Even if it doesn’t feel important but you are just dying to let it out – let it out!

If you have something you want to do or create, just go there!

If you wait for the perfect moment, the muse may pass or you may become the person who has it so together it overwhelms others too. That feeling of “it’s way too much to do ALL of that” can make us inaccessible to others who otherwise would’ve benefited from us. It can make us shut down because there’s no way we can make so many changes to our lives.

I remember when I first cut out processed foods. I would wander around the grocery store almost to the point of tears (let’s be honest there were some tears). I didn’t know what to buy and was on a tight budget. I was so used to seasoning packets, frozen foods, and premade marinades that when I read the ingredients I felt overwhelmed and wanted to flee the store!

Over time, I learned to cook differently, when to relax the rules, which aisles I didn’t even need and it became second nature.

When I see others starting on that same path, overwhelmed by the ingredients on the labels, I still have such compassion for them because it wasn’t that long ago I was there too. Thirty years from now I may not have that same compassion because I may have forgotten what it was like when I called my husband standing paralyzed in the aisle saying “There’s nothing here for me to buy!!!!”

Which is why we shouldn’t wait to share our insights. To forge new paths. To teach what is true for us TODAY.

Because today is when we are relevant to someone else who is where we just were.

It is so needed.

If you wait until you reach a level of success like Gabby Bernstein, many people will not be able to book an appointment with you or afford you. Most my spiritual support has been in the $200 or less range, and anything in the thousands was beyond my reach.

Just be sure ALL of you is comfortable with it and then leap! You will be relevant to someone. They will look to you as someone they can relate to and who they would want to receive information from. Or receive services from. Or buy jewelry from

Whatever it is, if your energy is really aligned with it, you will connect to those who are drawn to it – NOW. Not 10 years from now.

Today you are so relevant and needed.

Just by being you and following your nudges.

Just by virtue of wanting to do something positive for the world. By putting yourself out there.

You will be accessible.

And each step you take leads to the next one.

And the next one.

And the next amazing one.

Big hugs,

Before You Terminate an Employee Always Assume This! (and what you can do instead)

Before You Terminate an Employee Always Assume This! (and what you can do instead)

Before you terminate an employee, always assume this! They haven’t heard you.

I say this to every manager and every time they are surprised when they employee says they had no idea it was coming.

I don’t know what it is but if you haven’t sat down and officially written up your employee prior to their termination, you can almost guarantee they haven’t heard you. They will say they didn’t know it was that serious.

It’s as if those conversations happened but then evaporated into the ethers!

OR, maybe you weren’t as clear as you thought. After all, these conversations are uncomfortable and not at all easy at first.

Managers will come to me all the time at the end of their rope, beyond frustrated with their non-performer and ready to pull the trigger and make them “available to industry.”

I always ask the same things –

  • Have you written them up (Performance Improvement Plan)?
  • Have you been clearly following up your expectations after the discussions in an email which they confirm?
  • What is the protocol for terminations in your employee handbook?

If they haven’t done the write ups, it’s almost a sure thing that it went in one ear and out the other.

To be fair, the person who is not performing in a role is not usually the one who you have one conversation with and it never happens again. I’m talking about the one who you are repeatedly stating the expectations and they are repeatedly falling short.

Say, for example, they are supposed to bring in three new clients a month and four months have passed and they haven’t brought in one. You’ve checked their understanding, you’ve given them ideas for marketing and you’ve even sent them leads. Yet, nothing. That’s who I am discussing.

Most likely they are in the wrong role for themselves. I’ve seen people cling to jobs clearly not meant for them only to go on to do something different and succeed.

When I say “cling,” I mean continue to come in everyday, probably late, say they are going to get results and not get results. Maybe they also take long lunches, call out sick every Monday – Do everything but quit!

They are the ones who when you go to officially terminate them they will say they had no idea and didn’t see it coming.

You will want to make sure you’ve had the conversations.

You will want to make sure you’ve followed up in email. “This is to confirm the conversation we had today. You are expected to bring in three new clients every month. Please acknowledge your understanding by responding to this email.”

If that doesn’t work, you will want to give them a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan).

If you’ve followed the steps above, when you go to terminate them it should be no surprise. They should say “I know. You’ve told me,” instead of “I had no idea!”

Where I struggle as an HR professional facing an employee termination, is that the manager thinks they have clearly communicated and is usually at the point where they do not want to do anything additional. They are over it!

When I ask for any written support to show they’ve had these tough conversations, there is nothing. I hate telling them that even though they’ve probably had a hundred conversations with that person, if they can’t show it in writing, it’s almost as if it never happened. It’s your word against their word!

Now, many people like to tell me it’s “at-will” employment, to which I say “Yes! It is.” EXCEPT, the unwritten law is that you can terminate anyone at any time for any reason AS LONG AS IT’S NOT THE WRONG REASON. The problem is that “wrong” is subjective.

Can they say you let them go because they were of a specific ethnicity? Old? Any protected category? Can they say you didn’t follow your own employee handbook protocol for terminations?

That’s where the written communications come in handy.

Not only to protect you legally, but something about receiving communications that feel “official” start to move the employee into action on an energetic level.

Either they will get the point that this is now serious and start to step up to the plate, or they may start interviewing on the side which is great. It shows a shift. Maybe they’ll be getting their resume ready so they can spring into action if terminated.

Or, by the time you sit down to give them a PIP, they may quit right then and there because they see the writing on the wall. At that time you can decide to part more amicably and help them transition their work out of respect for their honesty. Maybe buy out their two weeks notice and allow them to leave?

All those are better scenarios than them being surprised and you having no way to show you’ve attempted to get through to them. You definitely don’t want to trigger any hostility.

Making sure you’ve been heard can make it a “gentle termination” instead of an abrupt and potentially disgruntled one. You don’t want an employee out there angry and hostile toward you any more than you want them on the job making mistake after mistake.

Clear communication. Written acknowledgement on their end demonstrating understanding.

Gentle.

Proof you’ve been heard.

Time for it to sink in with them.

Not shocking.

As with any termination, before you hand them their final check you should consider running it by an attorney, to be on the safe side.

And of course, spending the time on the front end on how you hire and doing your due diligence is always a good idea!

Really getting specific about your needs and hiring well helps with turnover more than anything else!

Why You Can’t Give Up!

Why You Can’t Give Up!

When you decide to pursue a life purpose – FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS for the inner journey of a lifetime.

Start by allowing yourself grace.

Decide you will rise and fall and keep going.
Rest when you need to.
Follow your inner knowing.
Read what you feel guided to.
Act when you feel inspired to.

But do not give up.

I say this because answering a calling requires re-committing over and over.

Especially if the dream is BIG. You must release layers. You must unlearn any limiting beliefs you’ve acquired along the way.

And it may all seem confusing.

Each thing you are learning and doing is raising your vibe. Raising your vibe offers shifts, and more insight.

There may be layers to release, shadows to be explored and healed, and just an overall learning curve to “holding space.”

What you initially set out to do may not be at all where you end up, and that is perfectly okay.

Because each step you take is important.

With each step, look for joy. Take a minute to applaud yourself for trying something new and outside your comfort zone.

Allow for change and also know when it’s time to stay the course.

But most of all, don’t give up.

Life can throw what feels like curve balls. Catch them if you can!

Reassess when you can get clear and then once again move forward.

RAISING. YOUR. VIBE.

Sit feeling that success, in whatever form success manifests for you. It may be good health. Long vacations. Shorter work hours, more family time.

Sit with it when you can so the universe has no choice but to match that energy with your daily reality.

Really know you will reach your goals. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But you will reach them.

Those goals may be so different than when you started on your path because your knowledge and understanding may be so different.

Or maybe the goal is the same, but now you really understand what the words mean.

Your goal may start big with many steps and slowly be whittled down to something as simple as “live joyfully,” or “stay in a loving space.” Doing those two things takes commitment and carries out into the world.

You may want to build mountains or save the earth.

Take those steps.

Applaud failure because you learned.

Applaud wins because you are trying.

You may even find that the journey is more important than the result.

The journey is the gift.

But you’ll never have any answers if you don’t try.

It can get hard, I know.

So we re-align when we can, cry if we need to, enlist support, and reconnect to light.

Then once again, there we are a flowing, which is why I implore you, beg you, and support your decision not to give up.

Which is not the same as pushing against a closed door.

It is reassessing and getting back to a place of allowing.

What if our only “job” is to continuously raise our vibration? Which is a commitment to releasing all that no longer serves?

You will discover your soul’s mission. There may be many missions.

But in those dark moments, really let it in, explore it, release it – just don’t let it block you. You will shine your light!

There are so many ways you can do it, unique to you.

If you remember to remain curious. “What is this telling me?” If you remember to ask for help, “Angels please help me.”

If you remember to do your part and give the universe a list to help you.

You can do it.

Doing nothing in joy, that is doing “it” too.

Just don’t stay down too long when the dark moments happen. Find your way back up.

Find support for your journey. Coaches, soulful groups either online or in person. Friends that really get you. Anyone who has traveled the road before you or is on it now too.

we're all just walking each other home

Just don’t give up.

I find it’s really more of a surrendering anyway. Allowing. Accepting where you are today.

It’s not pushing

But it is committing. And committing again. And again. Until every day you are fully aligned and committed to your purpose and no longer question it.

Then you can focus on supporting and loving yourself to stay in that sweet spot.

If you are looking for support, my services under “Work with Me” may help you. Just know, you don’t have to go it alone.

Keep going…I believe in you!

nicole strychaz
