Ever feel unstoppable some days but barely productive on others? Discover how understanding your environment variable from your Human Design chart can make all the difference!

Don’t know your environment type? You can grab your FREE “Discover Your Ideal Professional Environment” blueprint to find out yours and start utilizing this powerful insight today.

What is Human Design?

Human Design is a fascinating system that combines elements of astrology, Kabbalah, I Ching, and quantum physics to create a unique “energetic blueprint” for each individual. It feels like the most accurate personality test you’ll ever take, except it’s based on your birth time, date and location.

Think of it as your personalized guidebook to understanding how your energy interacts with the world. It reveals insights into how you make decisions, how you can best utilize your energy, and what kind of environment truly supports your well-being.

By delving into your unique energetic makeup, you can:

  • Make decisions that align with your true self, discovering a decision-making process that feels authentic and empowering.
  • Optimize your energy, learning how to conserve it effectively and utilize it to its fullest potential.
  • Create a supportive environment that nourishes your soul, enhancing both your productivity and overall happiness.
  • Live a more authentic life, embracing your true nature and shedding societal expectations that don’t serve you.

The Importance of Your Environment

One of the key aspects of Human Design is understanding your Environment. This is one of the four “Variables” that make up your unique energetic blueprint. It defines the type of physical space where you thrive and feel most supported.

Knowing your Environment type is incredibly beneficial because it helps you:

  • Optimize your workspace to support your energy and productivity.
  • Improve your well-being by creating surroundings where you feel comfortable and at ease.
  • Make better decisions, as your environment can significantly influence your thought processes and choices.
  • Nourish your body, mind, and spirit by creating a space that allows you to recharge.
  • Access your intuition, creativity, and productivity whenever you need it.

There are six primary Environment types: Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys, and Shores.

Today, we delve into the Markets environment, exploring its unique characteristics and how to optimize your workspace for maximum well-being and productivity.

Markets Environment: Your Guide to Thriving

If you have the Markets environment as a variable in your Human Design body graph (you can download your chart here), you thrive in dynamic, bustling spaces that stimulate your senses and spark innovation. The key to optimizing your workspace as a Markets type is to create an environment that balances the buzz of exchange with pockets of calm for maximum productivity.

Thriving in the Buzz:

  • Dynamic and Bustling: You flourish in lively workplaces, bustling cities, or social gatherings with constant interaction. The buzz of exchange energizes you.
  • Diverse and Stimulating: You thrive on the exchange of ideas, goods, or experiences – a melting pot of people and cultures feeds your curiosity.
  • Adaptable and Flexible: Just like a market that constantly changes, you excel at “going with the flow” in new situations.

It’s interesting to note, that Markets isn’t as it seems on the surface. I have two people close to me in my life who have “Markets” in their body graph chart and they both seek out people and the exchange of information, but then retreat to a quiet space. They are likely to be the friends and people in your life who follow up with you, text before you can text, call before you can call them and stay connected to your no matter how busy life gets.

I believe individuals with Markets are loyal and consistent friends, relatives and co-workers. They enjoy connecting for the exchange of energy, information, or goods.

Creating Your Ideal Markets Workspace:

  • Flexible Seating: Adjustable workstations or standing desks allow for movement and postural changes throughout the day.
  • Visual Brainstorming: Use tools like mind maps and whiteboards to capture ideas and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Inspiring Surroundings: Surround yourself with objects, artwork, or photos that reflect your goals and interests.

By understanding and embracing your Markets environment, you can create a workspace that not only fuels your productivity but also nourishes your spirit.

Caves Environment: Your Guide to Thriving

If you have Caves as a variable in your Human Design body graph (you can download your chart here to find out your environment), you thrive in spaces that offer a sense of sanctuary and introspection.

This environment type prioritizes comfort, control, and peace, providing a haven where you can recharge and tap into your creativity.

Some Ways to Create Your Caves Haven:

Design Your Sanctuary:

Choose a space that feels secure and private, where you can retreat and recharge your energy.

Privacy and Comfort:

Ensure your workspace allows you to control your surroundings, such as having your back against a wall or facing a calming view.

Enhance Peace:

Use soft textures, warm lighting, and calming colors to create an atmosphere that promotes relaxation and introspection.

Minimize Distractions:

Manage external stimuli with noise-canceling headphones or by setting boundaries in your workspace.

As a caves environment person myself, I really enjoy the sauna a few times a week. It feels cozy, shut off from interruptions, and allows me time to recharge and reboot my energy.

The Importance of Your Environment

Understanding my Environment was seriously the most helpful thing I learned from my Human Design chart and that is saying A LOT.

Being able to shift the energy when you feel stuck, having a type of environment that lifts you up when you feel down, and even a style that can help you create calm is just so helpful.

This is one of the four “Variables” that make up your unique energetic blueprint. It defines the type of physical space where you thrive and feel most supported.

Today, we delve into the Mountains environment, exploring its unique characteristics and how to optimize your workspace for maximum well-being and productivity.

Mountains Environment: Your Guide to Thriving

If you resonate with the Mountains Environment, you thrive in elevated spaces that offer a sense of perspective and expansiveness. The key to optimizing your workspace as a Mountains type is to create an environment that feels open and elevated.

Imagine working in a space with a beautiful view, where you can see the horizon and feel a sense of endless possibility.

Here are some tips to help you create this ideal Mountains environment:

Prioritize Elevation:

Seek out higher floors or workspaces with a view. Being able to look out over a landscape or cityscape can provide the perspective you need to feel inspired and motivated.

Create Space:

Declutter your area to ensure there is plenty of breathing room. An open, airy environment helps you feel less confined and more expansive.

Embrace Nature:

Incorporate natural elements like plants or earthy tones into your workspace. This connection to nature can help ground you while still providing that sense of elevation. Getting out in nature helps too!

Optimize Air Quality:

Fresh air is crucial. Ensure your workspace has good air circulation, perhaps by opening windows or using air purifiers.

Personalize Your Space:

Add elements that resonate with your mountain-loving spirit. This could be artwork depicting mountains, tall plants, or vertical shelves that draw the eye upward.

Mountains individuals often find inspiration in expansive views, whether it’s a clear horizon or a panoramic vista.

Natural light streaming into the space can also be incredibly uplifting, so try to position your workspace to take advantage of sunlight.

Vertical elements, such as tall plants or bookshelves, can help draw your gaze upward, enhancing that feeling of elevation.

Earth tones and minimalist decor can create a sense of grounding and stability, promoting focus and clarity.

Surprise! Her Human Design Environment Wasn’t What She Thought!

Surprise! Her Human Design Environment Wasn’t What She Thought!

Yesterday one of my good friends downloaded her free blueprint to learn the professional environment where she thrives according to her Human Design chart – and she was puzzled! She thought for sure she would be a “Shores” environment considering herself a total beach goer.

Don’t know your environment type? You can grab your FREE “Discover Your Ideal Professional Environment” blueprint to find out yours and start utilizing this powerful insight today.

And honestly, when I think of her, I think of our monthly brunches at Urth Caffe in Laguna Beach and our walk toward the garden store after with a peek-a-boo view of the ocean. It made me curious about whether or not mountains made sense for her.

So, I paused to wonder, “Why is she mountains?”

I have to tell you, since I started using Human Design and the Gene Keys in my business, it’s been such an accurate window into people’s purpose, their reason for incarnating, and the environment that supports them and nourishes their soul that I’ve learned the only time it’s “wrong” is when the birthtime is incorrect.

But her birth time was correct, so I thought about what I know about her.

“Have I ever seen her walk along the beach?” No.

What kinds of things DOES she do?

In addition to her full-time job, she meditates every morning in a garden shed she converted into a cozy space that looks just like a cabin. It has a little heater, wood walls, and is decorated much like a cabin you would find in the mountains. Aha!

When she vacations, she usually goes to Palm Desert which is a beautiful spot surrounded by MOUNTAINS.

work oasis human design

Interesting, mountains again.

For exercise, she often walks the hills in her neighborhood and people with Mountains as their environment are supported energetically and physically by being in higher spaces where they can breathe oxygen at higher altitudes, even if it’s only one floor up in their home.

And when I thought back to our beach brunches? We sit on top of a hill (like a mountain) and look down to the ocean – we don’t go walk on the shore.

Interesting right? What you think “should” be your environment, isn’t always what is. But it can turn out that you are often intuitively giving yourself self-care with what actually nourishes us and actually IS our environment.

How does knowing your environment help?

It’s so easy when we don’t know why we do what we do to disrupt the things that support our energy because we just don’t know what we don’t know.

In my friend’s case, she may now be more intentional about energy that feels “mountain-like” to cultivate an easier flow and continued good health.

But it is exciting to find that she’s already living it! She has been getting clarity and guidance from her intuition in her “cabin” and feeling synchronicity so maybe it’s more about having the clarity to be protective of the Mountains things she does.

Now there’s nothing wrong with her heading to the beach, as long as she doesn’t try to force a feeling that isn’t there.

I believe we all are nourished by all 6 of the environment types, it’s only a matter of which one your soul craves and feels most nourished by. You can add any element into your life, but when you want to create more flow, synchronicity and make your decision-making as easy as possible, zeroing in on your soul’s signature environment can be extremely beneficial.

Why Does Your Environment Matter?

Your environment is more than just a backdrop; it’s an active participant in your daily life. Here’s why understanding your Human Design environment is crucial:

      • Energy Flow: Your environment directly impacts your energy levels. The right space can boost creativity, focus, and productivity.
      • Well-being: A supportive environment contributes to a positive mindset and overall well-being.
      • Decision-Making: Your surroundings influence your thought process and decision-making abilities.
      • Personal Growth: By aligning your environment with your Human Design, you unlock your full potential.

    Uncovering Your Hidden Potential

Just like my friend, you might be surprised by your Human Design environment. It’s common to assume our preferences align with our surroundings, but our intuition often leads us to environments that nurture our energy.

By understanding your ideal environment, you can:

    • Create a workspace that supports your unique energy flow.
    • Boost your creativity and productivity.
    • Reduce stress and improve your overall well-being.
    • Make better decisions and achieve your goals.

Avoiding Burnout: Self-Care Tips for Lightworkers & Warriors

Avoiding Burnout: Self-Care Tips for Lightworkers & Warriors

Lightworkers and Light Warriors, you dedicate yourselves to bringing positive change to the world. But even the brightest lights need to recharge to keep shining. Have you been feeling burnt out lately? You’re not alone.

In this post, we’ll explore self-care practices to help you nurture your well-being and keep your flame burning brightly!

Self-Care Tips:

Ground Yourself in Nature: Numerous studies have shown that spending time in nature reduces stress and improves mood. Whether you hike in the woods, garden in your backyard, or simply sit by the beach listening to the waves, immersing yourself in the natural world can be a powerful grounding practice.

self care tips

Mindfulness for Inner Peace: Mindfulness meditation is a practice of focusing your attention on the present moment without judgment. It can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and cultivate a sense of inner calm. There are many free guided meditations available online or in apps to help you get started (see this post for a few of my favorites)

Move Your Body, Boost Your Mood: Physical activity is a well-known mood booster and stress reliever. Find activities you enjoy, whether it’s yoga, tai chi, dancing, hitting the gym, or taking a brisk walk. Even small bursts of movement throughout the day can make a difference.

Create Sacred Boundaries: Just like a battery, you have a limited amount of energy. Setting healthy boundaries protects your energy and prevents burnout. Learn to say no to requests that drain you, and don’t feel guilty about prioritizing your well-being.

self care tips

Cleanse and Recharge: Many lightworkers find energy clearing practices helpful. This could involve smudging with sage, taking a salt bath, or visualizing white light surrounding you and clearing away negativity. Find what resonates with you and create a regular cleansing ritual.

Pamper Yourself: Don’t underestimate the power of self-pampering! Schedule a relaxing massage, light some candles and draw a luxurious bath, or give yourself a mani-pedi. Taking care of your physical body shows it love and appreciation.

Connect with Your Community: Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who understand your path and can offer support and encouragement. Look for local spiritual groups, workshops, or online forums to connect with others who share your vision. (Check out the Soul Align & Shine, Sacred Community!)

self care tips

Brunch with Your Besties: Social connection is vital for well-being! Make time for laughter and joy with loved ones. A fun brunch with your besties can be a mood-booster and a great way to recharge.

Express Yourself Creatively: Engaging in creative activities like art, music, writing, or dance can be a powerful form of self-expression and rejuvenation. Nurturing your creative side allows you to connect with your inner light and release stress.

self care tips

Prioritize Rest and Recharge: Getting enough sleep is essential for both physical and mental health. But self-care goes beyond sleep – make time for relaxation activities that bring you joy, whether it’s reading a good book, taking a long bath, or spending time with loved ones.

Seek Guidance When Needed: Don’t be afraid to seek help from mentors, coaches, or therapists who can provide support and guidance on your journey.
